The actual boiling point, melting point, and freezing point of water also depend on pressure.

Pressure is how much weight is pushing down on us. Have you heard of atmospheric pressure? We are so used to the weight of the atmosphere that we don’t really notice it, but there are miles of air pushing down on us all the time. We use a barometer to measure atmospheric pressure.

At sea level, water boils at 212°F. In the mountains, where the atmospheric pressure is water boils at a temperature.
