Directions

All good writers check their writing for mistakes. Until you get the hang of editing, an editing checklist helps you hunt for one type of mistake at a time. It should include:

1.    Capitals
2.    Punctuation
3.    Spelling
4.    Verb tense
5.    Subject-verb agreement
6.    Sentence fragments

Check your writing for each item, correct the mistakes, and cross it off your list.

When editing for ______, look for clues that tell you if a sentence is a question. If it’s a question, it must end with a question mark.
