Here’s some more practice with suffixes – those little endings that can be added to a word to change its meaning.

Remember that "-er" at the end of a word means a person or thing who does something. For example: add "-er" to sing, and the new word, "singer," means "a person who sings."

In the sentence to the right, fill in the blank with a new word ending in "-er." Use the action in the sentence to figure out the new word.

Answer: The painter paints nice pictures.
