Writing a Cover Letter: Activity 2 of 3

DictionaryCalculator

Directions

The best cover letter is short and to the point. It has three main paragraphs:

  1. an opening to express your interest in a job,
  2. a middle to explain why you’re right for the job, and
  3. a closing to restate your interest in the job, describe what documents you are sending, and note how to reach you.

Where do the following sentences belong in a cover letter: opening, middle, or closing?

I am very interested in the receptionist’s job you advertised in today’s newspaper.
