Place Value

The numbers 10.00 and 1,000 may look a lot alike, but those tiny marks—the decimal point and the comma— make a big difference in the value of those numbers. Commas and decimal points help us keep track of place values in numbers, something we definitely need to know. Whenever we look at a price tag, it's place value that helps us tell $10.00 from $1,000!

In this lesson you will:
  • Learn place values of whole numbers and decimals
  • Practice writing and reading place values
  • Identify the place values of digits
