“Milestones” are among
our most popular segments. Learners like them because they
can relate to the adult learners profiled within them
and are inspired by the stories. Teachers appreciate their
ability to motivate learners and the richness of their
content. The portrait of Sheila Green could generate a
variety of lessons, but for the purposes of this tutorial,

through reading, with a focus on support words, commonly
known as context clues.
